Vision

People in India still gives the "Self Driving" options last prefrence when it comes to long drive. I understand that the road conditions are not good and traffic rules are no where, but the oveall condition is not as bad as it was earlier. With more sophasticated and solid vehicles coming up, this will be more fun.

My vision is to bring the like minded people togther and generate a feeling of fun in driving around and on the hills of himalayas to Plains of Kerala.

Background

For a long time I have been planing to have my own website where I have freedom to put on all the contents and experiences I have. But I was not very much interested in spending too much money, with no revenue or return.

I did purchased the domain wheelsandroads.com two years back and was looking for less costly hosting options.

As I am a java/j2ee expert with 9 years of IT experience in various domains, I started looking for hosting a java enabled site with JSp and Servlets and some database.

Most of the hosting companies in India and Outside charges a bomb on providing support for JSP/Servlets and other dynamic features.

So I decided to go for a static site for now, because most of the content on the site will be posted either by me or some close friends. So no problem making the posting process manual for time being.

I will prefer go slow and read the mind of audience instead of Go Bang.

More Details

Content of the site is mostly related to My Travel and Driving experience around Delhi and in the Himachal and Uttaranchal. I have also tried to represent the beauty of Hills in India. You get a feeling of achievement and fun driving on the Hills of Himalaya.

I have also requested some of my friends to post there experience driving in India

Techanical Details

Currently the site is complete HTML with lots of Javascript. And most of javascripts is prebulit opensource code.

Also a simple HTML site will be easy to maintain in my pastime.

I have created a list of credits at the end.
